The much anticipated ritual of ‘Santa Claus’ yearly visit by reindeer team has its most direct origins in the early 1820’s, with the best known reference being the poem ‘The Night Before Christmas’ that famously names each of the eight reindeer. Wherever its true origin lies, generations of children continue to anticipate the jingle of sleigh bells beyond their frosted windows…
